Michael Andreini is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), the world’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating a cure for multiple myeloma. He is a recognized leader in biomedical innovation and a champion of a new model of philanthropy that combines scientific research, data, technology, and venture philanthropy to drive breakthroughs for patients.

Under Andreini’s leadership, the MMRF is advancing ambitious efforts to transform how cancer research is conducted, leveraging large-scale genomic data, artificial intelligence, innovative clinical trial models, venture investing, and cross-sector partnerships to accelerate the development of more effective and potentially curative therapies. He has helped position the organization at the forefront of biomedical and patient-centered research, building collaborations that unite academia, industry, and the patient community around a shared mission.

Andreini is a leading voice on the evolving role of nonprofit organizations in healthcare innovation, advocating for approaches that not only fund research but actively de-risk scientific discovery, generate critical data resources, and catalyze investment in areas of unmet medical need. His work has helped establish the MMRF as a blueprint for how mission-driven organizations can accelerate progress across the biomedical ecosystem.

Before becoming CEO, Andreini held other leadership roles at the MMRF and previously advised life sciences organizations as a strategy and management consultant at IQVIA.

Through his leadership, the MMRF is pursuing a singular vision: to accelerate cures for myeloma by demonstrating what is possible when science, technology, and collaboration are mobilized in service of patients.
